Professional Veterinarians Australia is the professional association that represents employee Veterinarians in Australia.
Professional Veterinarians Australia has been created by a group of employee Vets who have decided that something needs to be done about the increasing problems facing our industry.
These issues include casualisation, rates of pay, continuing education requirements, the numbers of vets graduating from our universities and the increased expectations being placed on employee vets by employers.
Currently no organisation is addressing these issues on behalf of employee Veterinarians.
We aim to build an organisation that is run by vets, for vets that can represent and the views of employee vets.
Backed by Professional Australia, an industrial and professional association that represents over 25,000 professionals including engineers, scientists and architects, we are able to offer comprehensive work place support as well as broader financial support.
Our first steps will be organising meetings across the country, asking our fellow vets what they would like to see changed and if they would like to join us in trying to make a difference.
